Hi

Post by Scott landy »

Greetings from Kent
Currently under construction my landy but has had lots of progress this year I’m optimistic that this year that it may be back on the road. It’s been laid up for long time but to me it’s very special as it’s the car my late father lusted over every time we drove past it. It has a very unique history being a mk2 searle camper as it has travelled to Dubai to Africa and all over Europe with the previous owner. Once he finished his travels it ended up on his small holding where it was fitted with a pto then was turned into a work truck instead of an overland camper. I’m trying to keep its history so every dent and any part that I can reuse I’m saving. Look forward to seeing some of you about in your landys in the near future and one day at a rally as when back on road I want to have just as much fun as previous owner did.

Getting there Scott. :) I am enjoying following the progress. Look forward to seeing it on the road too. Don't rush it. Enjoy the process. 😎

It’s been a very interesting journey so far. Learning lots every time I’m in garage. First time doing something on this scale but I’m enjoying it although not looking forward to engine reassembly at moment as first time rebuilding an engine but have to start somewhere I guess. Not enough time in the day to be doing it all the time but when I get 5 it’s my go to place to relax.
Think I’d be lost without the workshop manuals and few friends who are into there various classics that are always willing to lend a hand if I’m stuck.
