Brake shoes
Brake shoes
Rear brake shoes plenty meat on them
Front shoes I need to replace
Noticed whilst doing the hub bearings this morning, however I didn’t measure the size of the drum only realised when I started the search for replacements either 10” or 11” diameter
When I replace the near side bearings next week I will measure to confirm
S3 1983 88”
Any recommendations for quality replacements
Please

Re: Brake shoes
Get originals. Try Blanchard's. Expensive yes but better than the toffee Chinesr crap.
I bought mine from a main dealer a long time ago. After fitting them thete was no more up and down of the brake pedal and thete still isn't.

Cheers Neil
I used Blanchard’s after your last recommendation
Will do
Is it worth getting new springs at the same time or did you use the existing ones.

Re: Brake shoes
Yes, worth getting new springs to do a proper job and Blanchard's have genuine ones as I bought some recently. I ' ve got discs on the front and the rear brakes were done some time ago. There's been some confusion over jow the springs are fitted so do one brake at a time and make sure the springs are fitted correctly or you'll never get the adjustment correct. I'm keeping mine for a rear brake shoe replacement some time in the future.
Presume you have a parts list.

Re: Brake shoes
Now you'll want the parts list for "Optional Extras."
I bought my parts list last century from a local agricultural dealer not long after I bought the La d Rover. It's proved extremely useful over the decades. If I want a part, I look in the list then google the part number to see who's got it and at what price amd whether it's genuine or pattern. I invariably end up buying it from Blamchards.
