Hi Folks, I'm replacing the speedo cable on my Series 3 (petrol) with a genuine unit and whilst I can work out what seems to be a suitable route for the cable, I'm wondering if anyone can describe the way these were fitted at the factory please?
Pics woud be handy too.
Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Series 3 88" Speedo Cable Routing
When I replaced my speedometer cable .I routed it in a sweeping curve avoiding sharp bends especially at the gearbox end and secured it with cable ties.
Before fitting I removed the inner cable, sprayed it with a silicon oil (Drylube) replaced the inner and hung it up speedometer end at the top for 24 hours. Before fitting I withdrew about 6 inches of the inner cable and wiped it clean. The result is a rock steady speedometer..
